KCHD Provides Naloxone Training
The Kanawha Charleston Health Department is offering Naloxone training every Wednesday. WCHS TV says each Naloxone kit costs $4,000, but the Kanawha Charleston Health Department got these kits through a donation from a pharmacy in Richmond. They’ve disibuted 500 to 600 so far and estimate they’ve saved 77 lives. Lawmakers just passed a bill allowing school nurses to administer the life-saving drug in the event of an overdose, but it will be up to each county school board whether to allow it.
