Lawmakers Reach a Budget Deal

The session is over, and as it was winding down Sunday, state lawmakers passed a budget bill. Both chambers passed the bill and it awaits the governor’s signature. If Governor Justice does not approve the bill, lawmakers would be called back into special session to hammer out a resolution. WCHS TV reports the new budget comes with spending reductions in several departments and agencies across the state.
