Lawmakers Start Using Microsoft Word
There’s a new system in place today for the start of the legislative session. After having spent tens of thousands of dollars, the West Virginia Legislature makes the switch to the Microsoft Word program after 15 years using Word Perfect software. Staff member have had to convert about 38,000 files from one program to the other. The $55,000 project started after last year’s session ended, and now the process of drafting bills becomes more standardized and flexible.
