Lawyers Say Quinones Has Served Enough Time on Gun Charge
A man acquitted of murder in the death of Kareem Hunter in 2013 wants out of jail. Miguel Quinones has been spending time in prison on federal gun charges after pleading guilty earlier this year. Kareem Hunter was beaten to death and buried in a shallow grave in Raleigh County three years ago, and Quinones was acquitted of related charges, but federal prosecutors filed a gun charge against him. The Gazette-Mail reports lawyers for Quinones argue 28 months in jail is enough time served, and thyey’re asking a judge for his release. The maximum sentence would be ten years, and the judge has yet to make a decision.
