Legal Age to Smoke

A proposal to raise the legal age to purchase cigarettes has been snuffed out in the House. A House of Delegates committee on health and human resources denied the bill yesterday. Those who were fighting for the higher age used data that claims those who start at 18 are more likely to be smokers their entire life. West Virginia leads the nation in the percentage of adults who smoke.
