Local Ambulances Sent to Help in Hurricane Michael Rescues
Emergency responders are headed to help those in the path of Hurricane Michael. EMS teams from Kanawha County left early Thursday to help with emergency response efforts in Florida and Georgia. The Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority said the first stop was Stone Mountain, GA for a team of three ambulances, and another team of five ambulances, including two from Kanawha County, one from Logan County and two from Jan-Care of Beckley is heading to Pensacola, Florida. Those ambulances are not part of the day-to-day fleet and are intended for regional responses like these. It’s not known yet when the teams will return.
