Loughry Indicted on 22 Charges
West Virginia Supreme Court Justice Allen Loughry was suspended earlier this month, and has now been indicted on 22 charges, according to U.S. Attorney Mike Stuart. Charges include 16 counts of mail fraud, two counts of wire fraud, one count of witness tampering and three counts of making false statements to a federal agent. The Judicial Investigation Commission also filed 32 charges against Loughry prior to his suspension. Loughry has been at the center of controversy over Supreme Court spending, and a state audit showed a lack of records on Loughry’s personal use of state vehicles. Loughry issued a letter saying he disagreed with the audit’s findings.
