Lower Gas Bills Predicted for Winter
The Public Service Commission expects lower gas utility bills this fall and winter. The PSC says Natural gas utilities that serve almost all of the natural gas customers operating in the state have filed requests to lower the purchased gas portion of their rates. That includes Mountaineer Gas Company, planning to reduce by nearly 20%. That would mean those customers have a lower bill by about 7 or 8 bucks a month. Other gas utilities around the state have requested even larger reductions. It’s not costing the gas utilities as much to buy natural gas, and the savings are passed on to customers.
