Man accused of evading police in custody

Charleston police have arrested a man for a string of thefts. James Cummings was taken into custody yesterday after eluding officer several times. He fled from police in a stolen ATV over the weekend. A relative tried to turn him in on Monday and he sped off in a stolen car. Police spotted the car he was driving, and he took off again on a bike. A plain clothes officer finally captured Cummings near Madison Street.
