Man dies in coal mine accident

A West Virginia coal miner died in an accident at a mine in Greenbrier County. The accident happened Wednesday morning at the Princess Polly Ann and JCT Enterprises Surface Mine. Thirty-three-year-old Roger Herndon died when he was hit by a piece of auger drill steel. The Office of Miners’ Health, Safety and Training is conducting an investigation.
