Man Hit By a Train Didn’t Hear it Coming

Putnam County deputies released the name of a man who was struck and killed by a train after he was walking on the tracks while listening to music with ear buds on. 23-year old Tyler Blake Smith was killed after he was hit about 9 p.m. Sunday in the Beechwood Estates area in Scott Depot, according to a news release from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. Eyewitness News says Smith was walking on the tracks and was carrying a skateboard, and didn’t hear the conductor blow the horn.
