Man is Arrested for Abducting Step-Daughter

An Illinois man has been arrested after a a wide search led by US Marshals. 39-year old Christopher Ray Delerth is accused of abducting his 13-year old step-daughter, Katherine Elizabeth, and her 2-week old child. Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Brian Humphreys tells The Gazette-Mail someone called in a tip that Delerth had been spotted in the Cabin Creek area. Delerth was arrested at around 1:30 on Saturday as a fugitive from justice. He will be returned to Madison County, Illinois, where he faces kidnapping charges. Authorities in Illinois have said the teenager has a congenital heart defect and a pacemaker. Delerth had previously been ordered not to contact her.
