Man is Identified in Ambulance Theft
Charleston police said the man accused of swiping a Charleston Fire Department ambulance Tuesday evening from a fire scene had been staying in an abandoned house. 27-year old John Charles Pratl Jr. of Charleston is charged with grand larceny auto after the ambulance was taken at the scene of a house fire on Indiana Avenue on the West Side. Pratl has been staying at an abandoned house on Anaconda Avenue. They don’t know what the motive was for stealing the ambulance. Pratl is currently being held in South Central Regional Jail on a $25,000 bond or 10 percent cash.
