Mayoral Candidate Makes Good on Back Fees
A business formerly operated by Charleston mayoral candidate Amy Goodwin has paid the city of Charleston back for delinquent taxes and fees. The Gazette-Mail reported the Goodwin Group LLC, a public relations firm, owed the city around a thousand dollars total for various fees, and all of those were paid October 25th. Goodwin said she was not aware that her former business owed unpaid taxes and fees until her mayoral opponent, JB Akers, shopped the story to area news outlets, but Akers denied that his campaign told the story to reporters.
