Metro 911 Handles Thousands of Calls During the Holidays

There wasn’t a lot of down time over the holiday period for Kanawha County dispatchers. Metro 911 Dispatchers handled 12,000 calls between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day, for emergencies ranging from building fires to car accidents. There were also 26 heroin related calls across Kanwaha County and six shootings over the holiday period. This week there’s been an increase in calls related to water main breaks in the cold weather.
