Monday Accident on I-64 Still Under Investigation

The investigation continues after a tractor-trailer accident on I-64 Monday. Sgt. B-D Humphreys with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office says the tractor-trailer crashed after hydroplaning on I-64 East near the 50 mile marker between Institute and Cross Lanes, hit a guardrail and rolled down an embankment. The driver, 41-year old Kevin Wagy of Ohio was trapped and then extricated and taken to Charleston Area Medical Center. The DEP helped with cleanup because ammonia spilled, and so far no citations. The causes of the crash are still under investigation.
