New Veterans Program Will Help With Rides to VA Hospitals
Gov. Jim Justice said a new partnership has been formed to transport disabled veterans to and from medical appointments at three VA hospitals in West Virginia. This comes after a review of the current system found problems with drivers traveling across the state line to pick up veterans in other states. Veterans can now get rides to and from medical appointments at VA Hospitals in Clarksburg, Beckley, Martinsburg and Huntington. The DAV will use new vans and a volunteer network to provide drivers at no cost to the state starting next July.
