Nitro wants to regulate homeless shelter locations

Nitro city council wants to restrict the location of any future drug treatment center or homeless shelter. Nitro Mayor Dave Casebolt says there’s no specific request for a facility, but council members hope to put restrictions in place before it happens. The ordinance would restrict building a social services activity center within a thousand feet of a public service facility like a school, playground, or park.
