Settlement approved for woman injured in 2010 raid

At Monday night's city council meeting, Charleston City Council members approved a settlement for a woman who sued the city, claiming a Charleston Police SWAT officer kicked her repeatedly and fractured several of her ribs during a 2010 raid. Council members approved $48,000 for Ludie Perdue. Search warrants had been issued for Perdue's sons on charges of entering without breaking and also on receiving and transferring stolen goods and they were the primary target of the raid, but there was also a search warrant for Ludie Perdue for receiving or transferring stolen goods.
