Fired State Superintendent Makes Good on Promise to File Suit
Former state Superintendent of Schools Jorea Marple has officially filed suit after being terminated last November. Marple is suing the West Virginia Board of Education, alleging that her firing was unlawful and "contrived in secret," and saying the firing caused irreparable damage to her reputation, affects her ability to get a job, and has caused mental anguish. The suit was filed Friday afternoon in Kanawha County Circuit Court. The suit also says Marple wants a "full airing of the issues" in court.
