Goodwin Won't Run for Senate

Senator Jay Rockefeller is retiring in 2014, and in the meantime fellow democrats are looking for someone to replace him. Republican U.S. Rep. Shelley Moore Capito has already announced she's running a 2014 campaign, and with democrats having a longtime hold on the seat, they're looking to retain. One of the democrats' leading candidates says he's out. Former US Senator Carte Goodwin turns 39 next week and he's raising two young children with his wife. Goodwin says that working in Washington, D.C., would mean only seeing his family on weekends. Goodwin was said to be a leading candidate to replace Sen. Rockefeller, but now the democrats keep looking.
