Land Needed to Help Bird Habitat

The Natural Resources Conservation Service is looking for landowners who want to help with a bird conservation plan. The agency says three to five acres or more which are bordered by about 75 percent forestland at elevations of 2,000 to 3,200 feet are ideal for the conservation program. It aims to keep the golden-winged warbler off the endangered species list. Applications are due at local NRCS field offices by April 1, with contracts awarded by June 30.
