Man Killed Allegedly Trying to Steal Copper

A man who was apparently trying to steal copper at the time was electrocuted on Wednesday. The Fayette County Sheriff's office says the man's body was found tangled up in a high-voltage power transmission line and he was pronounced dead at the scene Wednesday morning. It happened in the Berry Mountain area near Thurmond. His alleged accomplice, 22-year old Charles Norris, was arrested and charged with attempt to commit a felony, conspiracy to commit a felony and disruption of a public utility.
