Marshall University Addresses Budget Cuts
Once again, Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin has asked many state agencies to submit budget proposals that are 7.5 percent lower than the current budgets in the new year. Public education, corrections, Medicaid and others are exempt from those cuts, but higher education is not exempt. Marshall University is among the school planning to make do with less in the coming years, and the school is hosting several forums this week for students, faculty, and members of the community. Lawmakers and policy makers have been invited to take part as well.
