WSVU Provost is Stepping Down

West Virginia State University says Provost Charles Byers is retiring after 41 years of service. His last day will be June 30, 2014 after holding several leadership roles at the school. After stepping aside, Byers will serve for one year as a senior adviser to the president. His responsibilities will focus mainly on the university's accreditation and a campus master plan. Byers is a Logan County native who grew up in West Dunbar.
