Toxicology Reports Pending After Fatal Accident

On Tuesday afternoon there was a single vehicle crash on Coal River Road, and deputies say a car traveling south left the roadway and hit a tree at an estimated speed of 55 mph. Cpl BD Humphreys with the Kanawha County Sheriff's office says one witness to the crash said the vehicle braked until almost stopped, them accelerated suddenly several times. The vehicle may have been the subject of a BOLO (be on the lookout) issued by Metro 911 several moments earlier after reports of a similar car driving erratically. The driver, 47-year old Tammy Holsopple of Tornado was not wearing a seatbelt, and died after being extricated. Toxicology reports are pending.
