Train Hits City Vehicle; Investigation Underway

A city worker was hurt when a train hit his work truck Wednesday morning at the railroad tracks at 12th Street and MacCorkle Avenue. The truck was crossing the tracks when it was hit in the rear by the train traveling east. Charleston's Street Department, tells WSAZ.com the two workers were crossing the tracks to pick up garbage on 12th Street when the truck was hit. Charleston Police said the driver of the city of Charleston truck says he didn't see the train and it's horn was not going off. The train's conductor says the horn was going off before it reached the crossing. Investigators say they will review the train's camera to see what exactly caused the crash.
