Interim Judge is the Lone Applicant For Permanent Job
The interim replacement for a Putnam County judge who resigned after being accused of misconduct is the only applicant for the permanent job. Judicial Vacancy Advisory Commission member Kent Carper tells the Charleston Gazette that former Mason and Jackson County family court judge Deloris Nibert is the lone candidate. The commission will make a recommendation to Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin, who will make the appointment. Nibert has been filling in for former Family Court Judge William Watkins since he took medical leave in January. In March, the state Supreme Court suspended Watkins until the end of his term in 2016. He resigned last month.
