New Initiative Encourages Charleston Residents To Walk

Mayor Danny Jones announced a new initiative over the weekend aimed at making Charleston healthier. West Virginia Power is teaming up with the mayor to launch the City of Charleston Power Walking 150. Anyone who walks or runs 150 miles in 150 days will get a t-shirt and a free Power Game on Labor Day. You can sign up, and the cost is only ten dollars. Mayor Jones is hoping thousands will participate, and get friends and co-workers involved. The program starts April 1 and runs through September 1.
