Paving companies
Four cities in West Virginia are filing class-action lawsuits against a group of asphalt companies accused of anti-trust regulations. The Bailey & Glasser law firm says West Virginia Paving, along with a group of other related companies, created a monopoly that has driven up asphalt prices in West Virginia by 40-percent. The legal action was submitted yesterday and also says the defendants gained control of at least 15 asphalt plants in the state that once competed with each other.
