PEIA Task Force looking for funding

The Public employees Insurance Agency Taskforce is facing a deadline to come up with a way to end the annual cycle of premium increases and benefit cuts to the insurance plan that covers more the 200-thousand West Virginians. In a hearing earlier this week, ideas for revenue streams included raising the natural gas severance tax, but legislators say a severance tax is too volatile, and a more diversified approach is needed.
