PROMISE Scholarship Deadline Could be Extended

With the teacher strike, students weren’t in school when the PROMISE Scholarship deadline passed and one lawmaker wants an extension. Delegate Jill Upson, R-Jefferson, said she asked the state Higher Education Policy Commission to extend the March 1 deadline for applying for the PROMISE Scholarship, and if the request is granted the new deadline would be seven days after the strike has ended.
