Putnam County Bridge
There is one bridge in Putnam County that the West Virginia Division of Highways has shut down, and it is really making getting around, difficult for some. The structure in the Lanham community dates back to 1939. That closing is causing some big headaches. Students are needing an additonal 30 to 45 minutes getting home, and first responders have to take the long way to get to an emergency situation. Recent flooding caused debris to gather underneath the bridge. That in turn caused erosion issues around the bridge, making it dangerous to travel. “
