Raises Could Be Coming in Dunbar

Raises are likely coming to several people in Dunbar. Police and firefighters are in line to get a raise under a new ordinance, and some city administrators too. Federal law says salaried city workers making less than $47,000 would be eligible for overtime pay, and the raises are a way of getting around that. Dunbar has had a money surplus recently as they’ve trimmed wasted spending, and that allows for the raises to happen. It’s not final yet though. The city council will have to have a second reading of the ordinance and then a vote.
