Road Project is Taking Years to Complete
A road project that’s been in the works since 1999 may not start for another three years. The West Virginia Division of Highways says construction on the expansion of U.S. 340 South in Jefferson County is in the works, but the preferred new route could mean 12 residential relocations and five business relocations. Once the final Environmental Impact Statement is approved, right-of-way utility work would begin next year. Any construction would begin in 2018.
