Sanitary Board Will Have to Pay $1.3 Million to Contractor
The Charleston Sanitary Board has to pay over a million dollars for breach of contract. The Gazette-Mail reports the money will go to Upshur County contractor JF Allen Corporation after the sanitary board didn’t meet contractual obligations for sewer line work in 2012. In addition to the $1.3 million for breaching the contract, the jury also awarded the company $2.7 million in damages it claims it was owed from the project’s design and engineering firm, Ohio-based Burgess and Niple.
