School Consolidation

The state Board of Education does not appear to be ready to deviate from their original decision to deny school consolidation in Nicholas County. The school community and the BOE met yesterday, and both continue to have opposite views on the issue of consolidation. The local board reassured the state BOE that the rising costs and shrinking enrollment make it difficult to continue as is without combining the schools.
