Schools Evaulate Mental Health Strategies
After this week’s hostage situation at Philip Barbour High School in Barbour County, West Virginia, local schools are putting together the just-in-case plans. Twenty-seven students and a teacher were held at gunpoint by a teenage boy and no one was injured. Every school in West Virginia has to have a mental health crisis plan that focuses on prevention, response, and recovery. Part of that in Kanawha County is identifying students who may be struggling.
