Shawnee Park Sport Complex Makes Progress

The Kanawha County Parks Commission voted this week to make progress on a new sports complex. Commissioners voted to approve a lease agreement with the city of Dunbar for Shawnee Park, which will allow the park to be developed into a multi-sports complex. Earlier this week, Dunbar City Council unanimously voted to approve the lease agreement. The Kanawha County Bidding Commission has also given the okay for a bond, and bidding for the project is expected to start in September. Construction could begin in November.
