Some Kanawha County Voters Went to the Wrong Precinct

The Kanawha County clerk says an additional 513 registered voters may have cast their ballots in the wrong district. The Gazette-Mail says that the total number of voters who may have voted in the wrong district is now close to 1,000. Kanawha County Clerk Vera McCormick says Precinct 240 voters in the latest case may have been voting in District 35 instead of District 36 since 2012. Two of the general election races in those districts were decided by less than 50 votes. One Democratic primary race was decided by about 100 votes. The Kanawha County Clerk and the Kanawha County Assessor’s offices have drawn maps to correct the problem for the 2016 general election.
