State Funding for Greyhound Breeding
State funding for Greyhound breeding in West Virginia may be a thing of the past. The measure has been a hot button issue this year in the Legislature and the Senate yesterday approved a plan to do away with 15-million-dollars in annual subsidies. It would essentially eliminate the races at Mardi Gras Casino and Wheeling Island Casino. The passage was by a slim margin and the law is now in the hands of the WestVirginia House.
