State low on cash
Several West Virginia colleges are running low on cash. The state’s Higher Education Policy Commission was told earlier this week that many schools had less than two months of cash on hand at the end of the fiscal year ON June 30th. Ideally, the commission would like to see at least six-months’ worth of cash on hand. At the low end of the scale, Glenville State and Bluefield State were down to about two-weeks’ worth of cash. At the other end, Shepherd University and the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine had several-months’ worth.
