Syrian Refugees
A group in favor of allowing Syrian refugees to settle in the Charleston area is protesting the campaign promises of President-Elect Donald Trump. Members of “West Virginia Welcomes” held up signs at a rally at Haddad Riverfront Park last night. The group fears that Donald Trump’s stance against refugees and a desire to build a wall goes against American values. Meanwhile, the U.S. State Department is looking at bringing another 100 Syrian refugees to Charleston after the first of the year.
