Tax Reform

Progress is being made on tax reform in West Virginia. A measure was passed by the state Senate yesterday, a move that was needed by the end of the day in order to meet a deadline. It reduces the coal severance tax, has a sales tax increase and creates three tax brackets instead of five. It could also phase out the income tax but the entire package must still work its way through the House.
