Two Dead After Walking on Train Tracks
The investigation continues after a man and woman were hit and killed by a train. It happened early Tuesday morning in St. Albans, and Kanawha County Sheriff’s Deputies said the two were walking along the train trestle above the Coal River at the Saint Albans City limit when they were struck. A separate train had passed through the area moments before and saw the two walking along a parallel set of tracks. One conductor alerted the other, and that train started slowing down but couldn’t stop. CSX officials are assisting with the investigation, as are investigators with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of West Virginia.
