Two More Food Workers Diagnosed With Hepatitis A
The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department announced two more food service workers in Kanawha and Putnam counties have been diagnosed with Hepatitis A. One worker at Taco Bell at 4152 WV-34 in Hurricane and one employee at Pizza Hut at 5730 MacCorkle Ave. in Charleston were confirmed to have Hepatitis A. The infectious period at Taco Bell was May 19 through June 12. The infectious period for the Pizza Hut worker was May 26 through June 11. As a precaution, family members and coworkers are receiving Hepatitis A immunizations. The risk to the public remains low. Symptoms for Hepatitis A are abdominal pain, dark urine, fatigue, fever, jaundice, light-colored stools, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting.
