Two Separate Shootings Under Investigation

Charleston Police are lookign for shooting suspects after an incident Tuesday evening on Monroe Street on the West Side. 28-year old Derreck Rankin was shot in the abdomen. He is being treated at CAMC General hospital and is expected to survive. WCHS TV reports the shooting suspects were seen leaving the scene in an older model, green Jeep Cherokee. At the same time as this shooting, there were shots fired near Shawnee Park in Dunbar, and police are working to see if the two are related.
