Unemployment Rate

West Virginia’s unemployment rate is falling. WorkForce West Virginia said yesterday the rate dipped slightly in December to five-point-nine-percent and the number of unemployed also decline. There were declines in mining, logging and manufacturing but gains in construction. There was a huge drop in government jobs, attributed mostly to election workers at the local level.
