Walmart Arsonist Accused of Covering up Jewelry Theft
More now as the investigation continues into the fire at the Southridge Walmart this week. The store reopened Wednesday, after a fire around midnight Tuesday night, and there was extensive damage reported in the sporting goods and automotive sections. The fire is being investigated as an arson, and 42-year old Robert Walden Rogers of Kentucky is facing charges. South Charleston police say Rogers set the fire to cover up a jewelry theft of $2600 that was seen on surveillance video. Rogers is facing arson and grand larceny charges.
