War on coal

U.S. Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz says “war on coal” political messaging is untrue, adding that the Obama administration is working to keep coal an important part of a low-carbon energy future. Moniz spoke yesterday at West Virginia University during an energy forum and toured nearby Longview Power’s coal-fired plant. Moniz called on Congress to pass billions of dollars in tax credits that could help coal plants produce cleaner energy and meet the administration’s carbon emissions limits.
